Pony Show Jumping - Irish Second In Nations Cup At Wierden

(06 Jun 2009)

The competition, which was won by Great Britain on a zero score, and which featured seven nations in total, saw Ireland claim just two clear rounds, but even the elimination of Kate McDonagh and the Irish-bred Bertas Clover in the second round was not enough to dislodge the Irish from their shared runner-up spot.

The Irish team, under Chef d'Equipe Ian Fearon, recorded clear rounds from Alex Buller with Kadia Mouche, and Emma O'Dwyer with 'Edna' and a four fault total in each round from Michael Duffy on the Irish-bred 'Sillogue Darkie'.

Earlier, Co. Down's Emily Turkington claimed a second place in the Big Tour class on 'Sambo Lino'.
