Afterwards Horse Sport Ireland Team manager Robert Splaine said: "We were struggling after Cian's unfortunate elimination which left us with a three horse team for the second round and at such a high level of jumping this put us under huge pressure as there is not even the smallest margin left for error. It was a disappointing result today despite several good individual performances, and it puts us in a precarious position in the Meydan rankings."
