The Clones rider was a comfortable winner in the 11 horse jump-off, stopping the clock in the timed round over four seconds ahead of challenger Russ Mulholland on Linda Courtney's chestnut mare ''Touched Up'. Mulholland, winner of the previous leg of the HSI series, also slotted Courtney's 'Diamond Toby' into sixth today.

The qualifiers took place at Omagh on Friday with the top 20 combinations in both the 5 and 6/7 Year-Old competitions making it through to Saturday's finals. Horse Sport Ireland had a prize fund of €10,000 on offer for these young horse classes.
