HORSE Sport Ireland Show Jumping Team Manager Robert Splaine today (Saturday) confirmed his team selection for the four-star Nations' Cup due to take place next Friday (April 30) in Lummen, Belgium.
The team will be (in alphabetical order):
Shane Breen; Dorada (ISH) or Mullaghdrin Gold Rain (ISH) or Carmena Z
Alex Duffy; Tampa
Denis Lynch; Abbervail Van Het Dingeshof
Billy Twomey; Blue Thunder or Tinka’s Serenade
Robert Splaine said today: "This will be a serious test not far short of the standard of the Meydan Series competitions. In keeping with a policy that stands us in good stead I use developmental Nations' Cups like Lummen with the hope of strengthening our squad for the year ahead. It gives me the opportunity of trying out new combinations with possible selection for the Meydan series in mind."
The 2010 Meydan FEI Nations' Cup Series begins at La Baule, France on May 14, and will feature the world's top ten show jumping teams. The final competition in the eight-leg series will be held at the Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show on August 6.
