MALAHIDE-based Conor Swail was the only one of four Irish competitors in this afternoon's (Sunday) Grand Prix at Fontainebleau in France to make it through to the 11 horse jump-off, and one of only seven to go clear in the final round.
As a result the 39 year-old Ulsterman picked up a creditable fourth place behind France's European Show Jumping Champion Kevin Staut, but finished over five seconds off the pace of Colombian winner Rene Lopez and 'Noblesse des Tess', who took home the 40,000 euro first prize. Swail, however, was awarded 12,000 euro for his place.
The competition had 43 starters.
