THREE IRISH IN FRENCH PONY GRAND PRIX TOP TEN

(03 Apr 2011)

WEXFORD'S Bertram Allen was best of the Irish in today's Pony Grand Prix at Barbizon, France, taking third place with 'Acapella Z'.

Fifteen year-old Allen, the current European Individual Pony Gold Medallist, was just over two seconds off the pace of British winner Amy Inglis today, but on Saturday took a seventh place with the same pony in Two Phase competition, and added a third place on Friday with 'Cassandra vh Roelhof'.

Fifth in today's Grand Prix was Max O'Reilly Hyland on 'Rock Dee Jay'. Hyland also won Friday's Two Phase class with 'Tiny Tuxedo'.

Emma O'Dwyer was seventh in today's competition with 'Kalim de Montlieu', and on Saturday placed third on the Irish-bred 'Jacknell Street' in the Two Phase competition.
