SHANE Breen finished off a successful week at the four-star show in Portugal today (Sunday) with a fifth place in the Comporta Grand Prix, riding Ronan Tynan's Irish-bred stallion 'Warrentown You 2'.
The Tipperary rider went clear in the first round, but dropped a single pole in the second to finish on a total of four faults. Fellow Irish competitor Marion Hughes from Kilkenny took seventh place today with the Irish-bred mare 'HHS Fafa' on a total of six faults, while Trevor Breen, younger brother of Shane, finished in 10th place on 'Adventure de Kannan'.
The Breen brothers had a string of successes during the week's jumping in Comporta, amongst them a first, second and third place in yesterday's speed class.
Today's Grand Prix was won by France's Herve Godignon and 'Carolus Z'.
