IRISH riders took top five places in tonight's feature class at the five-star show in Basel, Switzerland.
With 17 combinations through to the jump-off from a starting list of 50, it was Cork's Billy Twomey and Sue Davies's mare 'Tinka's Serenade' who claimed fourth place, but Tipperary-born Denis Lynch was just a fraction of a second behind on Thomas Straumann's 13 year-old gelding 'Lantinus' to take fifth.
The class was won by Brazil's Alvaro Miranda with 'AD Ashleigh Drossel Dan', though he was just over a second clear of Twomey in what was a tightly-fought jump-off that yielded nine clear rounds.
Basel's 230,000 euro Grand Prix takes place on Sunday afternoon.
