Splaine announces team for Spanish Nations’ Cup

CAMERON Hanley will open for Ireland at the Gijon Nations’ Cup in Spain on Saturday, followed by Anthony Condon, Capt. Michael Kelly and Dermott Lennon.

Ireland has been drawn tenth to jump of ten teams, and Show Jumping Manager Robert Splaine has announced that the Irish quartet, in jumping order, will be as follows:

Cameron Hanley with Z Acodate DDL
Anthony Condon with Aristio
Capt. Michael Kelly with Ringwood Glen (ISH)
Dermott Lennon with Loughview Lou-Lou (ISH)

The Spanish Nations’ Cup, which is not a points-scoring competition for Ireland, is due to start at 12:45pm Irish time.

Meanwhile, Ireland clocked up two top five places at Gijon’s five-star show today (Friday), with Anthony Condon and Balzac finishing fifth in the 1m50 Two Phase aboard Balzac, and Cian O’Connor taking a third place in the evening’s speed class with Quidam’s Cherie.

In Muenster’s four-star show in Germany, Alex Duffy and Wrangler II had a good fourth place in the 1m45 speed class, with Germany’s Christian Ahlmann taking the winner’s rosette on Barco.
