Wins for Peter Smyth with CHS Krooze (ISH) and Michael Pender with Z Seven Canya Dance (ISH) in HSI Young Horse Championships at the RDS

On the final day of the 2016 Dublin Horse Show at the RDS, Co Tyrone’s Peter Smyth and the Kathryn O’Hagan-owned Irish Sport Horse mare CHS Krooze, have won the six-year-old ‘Cruising’ National Championship sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland.

CHS Krooze is by Kroongraaf (KWPN) out of Cruise Oak (ISH) who is by Cruising (ISH), and was bred by Vincent O’Callaghan from Co Clare. Smyth’s double clear round in 36.60 seconds saw him push Michael Pender and Curra Clover Flight (ISH) into second, while Francis Connors and BP Castlefield finished third.

In the five-year-old ‘Flexible’ National Championship sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland, Micheal Pender took the winners prize with The Irish Sport Horse mare Z Seven Canya Dance.

Owned by Team Z7, Z Seven Canya Dance is by Can Ya Makan (HOLST) out of HHS Chantilly Lace (ISH), who is by Cavalier Royale (HOLST) and was bred by Anne Hughes from Co. Kilkenny.
Darragh Ryan finished as runner-up with ESI Star Struck (ISH), while Mervyn Clarke came home in third with Thomascourt BGS (ISH).

Many of the prize winners in the Dublin Horse Show young horse finals have featured strongly in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Series already this year.
