Irish squad for Sopot, Polish Nations Cup announced
Horse Sport Ireland’s show jumping manager Robert Splaine today (Monday) confirmed his selections for the upcoming Furusiyya FEI World Cup 5 Star show in Sopot, Poland.
The show at Hippodrome Sopot, will be the first time in history, the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) granted Poland a 5-Star event. The Nations Cup competition will take place on Friday June 10th at 13.00 GMT.
The Irish squad in alphabetical order is:
Shane Breen
Alexander Butler
Jonathan Gordon
Cameron Hanley
Darragh Kenny
Speaking about the Nations Cup, Robert Splaine said; “Sopot will be extremely competitive with no less than 15 nations due to line out next Friday. Jonathan Gordon will make his first appearance on a Senior Nations Cup squad of five riders and the team of four will be decided before next Friday. “
