TWO perfect rounds of jumping netted fourth place for Ireland’s Shane Breen in this afternoon’s (Saturday) five-star Grand Prix at Helsinki, Finland.
Riding 11-year-old bay gelding Undicci, the Irishman was one of nine to make the jump-off from 41 international competitors, and the pairing posted a second flawless round in a time of 36.59, which proved to be just a place off a podium finish.
Billy Twomey and Tin Tin missed the cut for the decider with four faults in the opening round.
Dutch rider Leopold van Asten took the top prize with a time of 35.77 on board VDL Groep Quinthago Z.
Tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) sees the feature event at the Finnish venue – the Longines World Cup competition.
