Conor Swail added another first prize to his weekend haul at the four-star meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, when he took this evening’s (Sunday) closing $34,000 class riding Cita.

The winner of yesterday’s $212,000 Grand Prix with Viva Colombia, Swail brought out Cita and Martha Louise for this evening’s event and managed to make the 12-horse jump-off with both of them.

In the concluding round, the Irish rider first had four faults with Martha Louise, and a home win was on the cards when American Ali Wolff stole the lead on Brianda, going clear in a time of 36.868.

Swail was third-last to go with his other mount Cita, and the pairing stunned the crowd with a scintillating clear in 36.726 for victory.

While it was Swail’s second win of the weekend at Palm Beach, it was Ireland’s third, as Richie Moloney had won the speed class on Friday with Alsvid.

With Bertram Allen’s Grand Prix win at Stockholm earlier today on Quiet Easy and their speed class win on Saturday, Irish riders netted a total of five trophies at four-star level over the weekend, with two Grand Prix events among them.
