Carriage Driving World Pair Championships 2013

The 2013 World Carriage Driving Championships for Horse Pairs are taking place at the national Stud of Slovakia in Topolcianky over this weekend 29th Aug to 1st Sept.
Dressage is on Thurs and Friday. The Marathon is on Saturday and the Cones competition will be held on Sunday. For these Championships there is a record entry of 74 competitors from 23 countries.
Ireland is represented by Barry Capstick , Folke Rohrssen and Anneka Rohrssen. Also travelling are Chef d’Equipe Terry Logan and assistant Chef d’Equipe Ger Hennessy. All three drivers are experienced International competitors and all have previously competed at World Championships. This is the first time Ireland has fielded a full squad of three drivers for a pairs World Championships, and recent form would suggest that we can expect a good team placing.
Barry has been almost unbeatable over the last few years, winning consistently at all UK National events and is current British Horse Pairs Champion.
He has also got recent international success, winning at CAI Windsor in 2013 and at CAI Beekbergen (NED) in 2012
Both Folke and Anneka are well known on the Irish scene and are regular competitors and winners in the Horse Pairs class. Anneka was National Horse Pairs Champions in 2011 and Folke in 2010.
