Celebrate Global Coaches Day

  • 25 September 2021, 14:25

Today we celebrate the ICCE Global Coaches Day 2021 by saying #ThanksCoach to our hardworking and dedicated coaches up and down the country. This past week we shared the many reasons riders wish to say #ThanksCoach to the dedicated equestrian professionals who support and mentor us in pursuit of our sporting goals and ambitions.

Now it’s over to you!

To show your appreciation, post a video or a picture of you and your horse or pony explaining what your coach has taught you and why you would like to say #ThanksCoach 😊

Remember to tag Horse Sport Ireland as we can’t wait to see what your coach has taught you! If you need a little inspiration, here are just some of the lovely messages we have received already this week:

Rosie: “Hi, I’m Rosie and I’m 13.  The most important thing my coach has taught me is how to use my seat to control my pony rather than relying on my hands.  Murvey Katie is a five-year-old Connemara who I got as a three-year-old.  She’s the sweetest, kindest, and bravest girl. We’ve been doing pony club, working hunter and eventing.  She always tries her heart out for me, and our highlights so far were winning at our first Eventing Ireland outing and placing in the top 6 at our first HOYS qualifier. I get a lot of help from my coach and wouldn’t have achieved any of this without him!” #ThanksCoach

Sam: “My dressage coach Tracie taught me that the daily pursuit of excellence is as rewarding and enjoyable as the outcomes that follow.” #ThanksCoach

Aoife: “Since training and working with my HSI Level 3 coach Lousie bloomer, she has helped me to pass my Irish Pony Club A test, compete at my first international event and is helping and encouraging me with every aspect of my career in working with horses.” #ThanksCoach
