Clark shines at Drishane Castle

DUBLIN-born Aoife Clark was best of the Irish at Millstreet’s Drishane Castle event in Co. Cork today (Sunday), with a third and sixth place in the three-star class, and a second place in the two-star competition.

Clark and Fernhill Adventure (ISH) finished in third in the CIC3* on a score of 48.60, just behind two New Zealand riders – runner-up Tim Price with Bango, on 47.60, and winner Jesse Campbell on Kaapachino with a finishing penalty score of 44.30.

Sarah Ennis also took a fifth place for Ireland on BLM Diamond Delux (ISH), with Clark again featuring, this time in sixth with Wasting Light (ISH). Sam Watson made it into the top ten with a seventh place on his long-term partner Horseware Bushman (ISH)(TIH), and again in ninth aboard Imperial Sky (ISH)(TIH).

In the CIC2* event, Clark was runner-up on Rienroe Lucky Ranger (ISH) on 48.00, with first place again going to New Zealand’s Jesse Campbell, this time partnering Cleveland. Eighteen year-old Lucy Latta claimed a fifth place for Ireland in the two-star event with Cleo Ferro (ISH), while Emma Jackson with Amy B (ISH) were in seventh, Fraser Duffy on Ardeo Design in eighth, Clare Abbott on The Precious One (ISH)(TIH) in ninth, and Michael Ryan with Ballylynch Adventure (ISH) in tenth.
