Coaching CPD Event – ‘Saddle Balance and Fit for Horse and Rider’

Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Coaching is delighted to announce the upcoming ‘Saddle Balance and Fit for Horse and Rider’ CPD event with Master Saddle Fitter Lauren Coxhead and HSI Level 2 Coach Susanne Macken at Galway Equestrian Centre, Athenry, on Wednesday April 19th.

Lauren Coxhead, SMS MSF MSFC, is a highly regarded and qualified Master Saddle Fitter and Chief Advisor with Saddles Ireland, and holds not one but two qualifications from the Society of Master Saddle Fitters. Lauren is well known all around the country, fitting saddles and supporting clients with maintenance advice, refits and adjustments for riders of all levels, from grassroots to Olympians.

Susanne Macken is a HSI Level 2 Coach and Coach Developer with the HSI Coaching Programme. Susanne is heavily involved with the FEI’s international Groom’s Training Programme, delivering courses worldwide. Susanne’s wealth of knowledge and experience, coupled with the expertise of Lauren Coxhead is sure to make this event an extremely enjoyable and educational occasion, ensuring participants will go home with a better understanding of:

• The 6 basic principles of saddle fit
• Balance of the saddle
• Balance and position considerations of the rider
• Saddle care and maintenance

This event will include:

• Presentation and discussion
• Hands on saddle fitting
• Coaching demonstrations
• and multiple opportunities for question and answers

This event is suitable for coaches of all levels, AIRC and IPC members and anyone with an interest in the topic. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Early booking is advisable.
