Dr. Russell MacKechnie Guire to Cover Horse and Rider Biomechanics in Two-part Webinar Series

Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) are delighted to announce that Dr. Russell MacKechnie Guire of Centaur Biomechanics will deliver a two-part webinar series as final part of the 2021 HSI Spring Coaching Webinar Series.

The series entitled: ‘Biomechanics of Horse and Rider from a Coaching Perspective’, will take place on Tuesday 27th April at 6pm and on Tuesday 11th May at 6pm. The webinars are aimed towards HSI Level 2 and 3 coaches and are also suitable for riders or anyone else with an interest in horse and rider biomechanics. Participants can attend one or two webinars.

Russell is a leading expert in the field of biomechanics. He graduated from Warwickshire College in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Equine and Human Sports Science and holds a PhD in Equine Biomechanics, graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2019.

In 2006 Russell founded Centaur Biomechanics. He has extensively researched the effect that tack has on equine health and performance and is currently researching different topics including horse-saddle-rider interaction, spinal kinematics and much more.

In addition to this Russell collaborates on various research projects associated with equine health and performance around the world. He regularly presents at international meetings and is a consultant for the British Equestrian Federations (BEF) World Class, Team GBR programme. Russell is also a member of the Team GBR’s Scientific Advisory Group.

This webinar series is set to be highly informative and educational. The webinars can be booked together or individually.
