Dublin Horse Show and European Championships kick off this week

The 2018 Dublin Horse Show opens today (Wednesday) at the RDS in Ballsbridge. Dublin (IRL) hosts the last leg in the Europe Division 1 of this year’s Longines FEI Nations Cup Series. The Nations Cup takes place at 15.00 GMT on Friday, with the Irish team competing for the prestigious Aga Khan trophy as well as the top spot in the League table. The Landrover Puissance will take place on Saturday at 18.10 GMT and the Longines Grand Prix on Sunday at 15.00 GMT.
The FEI European Championships for Ponies takes place at Bishop Burton (GBR) this week, with Ireland fielding teams in showjumping, eventing and dressage. More than 500 riders representing 16 nations will compete over the five days of competition, vying for both team and individual medals.
Elsewhere on the showjumping circuit, action takes place at Valkenswaard (NED), Budapest (HUN), Opglabbeek (BEL), Crete Illinois (USA) and Caledon Ontario (CAN). In eventing, Ireland will be represented at Hartpury (GBR) and in dressage at Cappeln (GER).
