Billy Twomey on Lizziemary ended up in 11th place out of 41 starters in this morning’s 1.45 class at the five-star show in Rome. The pairing went clear but collected one time fault in the process. Swiss Rider Niklaus Rutschi won the class with Earl Pery’S Caro CH.
Twomey is also in action in today’s second event with Ardcolum Duke, while Alex Duffy partners Wrangler 11 in the same contest.
Twomey and Duffy picked up 4th and 2nd placings respectively yesterday in separate events at the prestigious fixture.
The remainder of the action in Rome today will consist of the Furusiyya Nations’ Cup. Ireland is not contesting this event as it is not one of venues assigned to the Irish team for allocation of league points.
