Sport Northern Ireland and the NI Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, have confirmed to Horse Sport Ireland that following the announcement by the NI Executive regarding opening up of outdoor sports facilities, non-contact sports including all equestrian activity, can as from today Monday June 8th, enter Step 1 of the Framework for Resumption of Sport & Physical Recreation.
Step 1 of the Framework includes equestrian training, coaching, lessons or competitions which take place entirely outside and do not involve more than six people from different households.
There is currently no restriction on the distance to travel within Northern Ireland, however, anyone travelling to another jurisdiction to participate in competitions or training will need to comply with the rules regarding travel and distance in that jurisdiction.
Horse Sport Ireland remind all equestrians to strictly follow all public health, return to work and Government advice and to maintain social distancing at all times.
