European Championships (CH-EU-P-S ) for Ponies Millstreet July 29th – August 3rd 2014 CSIP & CSI-YP Selection System

Millstreet Equestrian Services applied to host a CSIP and CSI-YP in conjunction with the European Pony Championships (CH-EU-P-S). Horse Sport Ireland and the FEI have now approved this and it is included in the FEI calendar for 2014.

Millstreet have indicated that there will be 30 spaces available for Irish ponies in the CSIP competition. Each rider can qualify a maximum of two ponies for the CSIP in Millstreet.

There will be 24 spaces for Irish ponies in the CSI-YP competition. Each rider can qualify a maximum of two young ponies for the CSI-YP in Millstreet.

A rider can have ponies qualified in both sections and therefore can ride up to four ponies in Millstreet.

Please note that ponies competing in the CSIOP/CSIP/CSI-YP in Millstreet can only compete in one of the CSIOP, CSIP or CSIYP and cannot compete in any non-FEI classes which take place during the CSIOP/CSIP/CSIYP event. These ponies are competing under FEI Regulations and are not permitted to enter a national class at the same venue.

CSIP Selection

Millstreet have indicated that there will be 30 spaces available for Irish ponies in the CSIP competition.

Two places get automatically filled from the short listed combinations from the CH-EU-P-S trials after Ard Chuain & Barnadown. The remaining four places are awarded to combinations from the ranking established after the two Championship (CH-EU-P-S) Trials who are not part of the 7 combinations who are shortlisted for selection for CH-EU-P-S.

The remaining 24 places will be awarded to the top 6 combinations who have not already secured a place, from each of the 1.20 qualifiers from the shows mentioned below.

•             May 9th – 11th   Ard Chuain – HSI Trials 1.20m class

•             May 23rd – 25th Barnadown – HSI Trials 1.20m class

•             June 29th             Mullingar –1.20m class

•             July 2nd                Millstreet 1.20m class

CSI-YP Six and Seven Year old ponies.

There are 24 spaces available in the CSI-YP competition. 6 places will be awarded to the top combinations who have not already secured a place, from each of the shows listed below,

CSI-YP

•             May 9th – 11th                  Ard Chuain – Starfinder

•             May 23rd – 25th               Barnadown – Starfinder

•             June 29th                            Mullingar  1.15m/1.20m

•             July 2nd                               Millstreet 1.15/1.20m

 

All qualified ponies who intend to compete in the CSIOP/CSIP/ CSIYP in Millstreet must be measured by HSI’s pony team veterinarian Con Kennedy at Millstreet July 2nd. Con Kennedy’s decision on measuring is final. Any pony not measured here must travel to Con to be measured at their own expense.

The HSI pony HP Committee reserves the right to alter, adjust, amend or disregard any of the above arrangements in agreement with the OC at any time in the best interest of selecting the best ponies. If any of the selection competitions or elements are cancelled or declared void then adjustments will be made and put on the Horse Sport Ireland website as soon as practical.

Qualification places are allocated on the understanding that the CSIP and CSIYP will go ahead as planned. If for any reason they are cancelled HSI will accept no liability for any costs for competitors arising out of competing in the trials or any other losses as a result of the CSIP or CSI YP not going ahead.
