Eventer Murphy meets Princess Royal

IRISH Event rider Joseph Murphy was invited to speak to the volunteers, officials and other distinguished guests at the Regional RDA conference in the Templeton Hotel, Belfast last week.

The conference  recognises the achievements of riders with disabilities as well as presenting awards to volunteers and instructors who give up their time for this extremely worthwhile organisation.

The conference was attended by over 250 people. Joseph got somewhat of a surprise as he thought he was addressing a group of children from the RDA groups. It was an even bigger surprise when he discovered a member of the audience was HRH The Princess Royal, the president of the RDA.

While it was a privilege to address the princess in his speech he said that it was “less daunting galloping to the Vicarage Vee”.
