Five-star Burke revelling in recent run of success

Jessica Burke is a woman on form at the moment, and she capped off a magnificent run of form by winning the 1.45m CSI5* ranking class at Sharjah.
Galway girl Burke has been in the form of her life of late, helping Ireland to four-star and five-star FEI Nations Cup podium finishes in the Middle East.
Those runs were on the Liam Nicholas-owned Nikey HH and, this weekend, Burke was on fire on board Natasha Carolan’s Inpulss.
The combination jumped clear in the jump-off in a time of 27.08 seconds, winning the class by a razor-thin two hundreths of a second.
Germany’s David Will was second on board Cento du Rouet with a time of 27.10 and the man-in-form, Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano finished third, another two hundreths of a second back in a time of 27.12 seconds on Julius D.

After the win Burke told horsesportireland.ie: “I’m just delighted with the horses results overall out here, to be honest.
“Inpulss has been jumping great, she won the first week but has been a little unlucky since, and always knocking on the door. So I was really happy for her to get that 5* win.
“Also, to beat two of the fastest riders in the world David Will and Emanuele Gaudiano in second and third was a very satisfying feeling as both have been incredible to watch here all tour and I can learn a lot from competing alongside them.
“Now I’m looking forward to finishing up with Sundays 5* Grand Prix and then getting my horses back home for a rest, they have been amazing so they deserve it.”
