The final of the Horse Sport Ireland Foal Championship 2022 will be held next Wednesday 19th October in Cavan Equestrian Centre with a start time of 1pm. The HSI Foal Championship aims to identify, evaluate, and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest level in the disciplines of Show Jumping or Eventing. Horse Sport Ireland would like to extend their congratulations to all competitors on their success throughout the competition so far. There were nearly 200 entries over all six qualifier legs and now all winners and reserves, where appropriate, who qualified will compete at the final next week. There will be a Champion Show Jumping Foal for both horses and ponies, as well as Champion Eventing foal in both categories. Reserves will also be presented in these categories. There will also be a Champion for the overall best traditionally bred (TIH) foal and reserve in the horse section. The first section to be judged will be the Pony Evening, from 1pm, followed by Pony Show Jumping. The afternoon will see the start of the Horse Sections. All sections will be judged by an expert panel of discipline specific judges. Presentations for the champion and reserve of each section will take place directly after each class has completed.

There has been €30,000 in prize money this year on offer over the championship with €11,500 on offer in prize money at the final. Start list and times for all competitors can be found below. Horse Sport Ireland would like to wish all competitors good luck in the final next week.
