Galway’s Michael Duffy’s excellent run of form continued tonight (Friday) with a commanding victory at the five-star French show in Valence. The 22-year-old from Turloughmore claimed the top prize of €7,500 in the Prix MMA Speed Class with the 12-year-old stallion Millfield Ultymate.
Duffy crossed the line clear in 64.74 seconds, almost three seconds faster than French runner-up Edward Levy and also ahead of American World No.1 Kent Farrington who also finished in the prizes.
Michael Duffy’s win with Millfield Ultymate, who is owned by Alona Soloviona, comes on the back of a runner-up finish for the pair on Thursday at the same venue. Earlier this year, Duffy was a key member of Rodrigo Pessoa’s Irish team in the FEI Nations Cup series at Lummen and La Baule with Belcanto Z.
