Ger O’Neill wins Mullingar opener in Horse Sport Ireland Autumn Grand Prix League

Kilkenny’s Ger O’Neill claimed the winners prize in the opening round of the Horse Sport Ireland Autumn Grand Prix League at Mullingar Equestrian Centre.

Riding the Sharon Fitzpatrick-owned Keatingstown Z Wellie Two, O’Neill finished with over four seconds to spare over junior rider Seamus Hughes Kennedy in second with the Clare Hughes-owned Cuffesgrange Cavadora (ISH). Jennifer Kuehnle took third place overall with Tullibards Miss Optimistic.

The Horse Sport Ireland Autumn Grand Prix League is part of the HSI Autumn Development Series 2020. This significant series aims to provide development opportunities for breeders, owners and riders and to extend the competitive season for equestrian sports, which was shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic. The HSI Autumn Development Series 2020 provides significant prize money and includes breeders prizes in each discipline. The series will be run in accordance with existing government guidelines in relation to COVID-19.
