- 21 August 2020, 16:16
Horse Sport Ireland are seeking applications from venues to hold eight individual midweek or weekend professional horse production events this coming autumn, to further support breeders, producers and those employed in the Sport Horse Industry in Ireland this year.
The concept of the “Horse Sport Ireland Development Series” is to assist breeders and producers to continue to produce young horses from 4-year-olds to international level during the forthcoming autumn period and in the process extend the current season which has been severely curtailed by Covid-19.
Horse Sport Ireland CEO Ronan Murphy said:
“We have looked at different ways in which Horse Sport Ireland can support our industry through this challenging period and feel that this HSI Development Series will be a great addition to the competitions and initiatives that have previously been announced. We are looking forward to working with our affiliates and venues with the aim of making this series a huge success.”
HSI will provide all prize money for the competitions/events which can be in Show Jumping, Dressage or Eventing. Following this venue application process, HSI will select the most suitable venues and competition concepts to support the ongoing production of horses. HSI will then liaise with the relevant affiliate for the discipline and the venues to ensure that the development series designed will be appropriate and progressive. All events/shows will be run under affiliate rules. All competitions will run subject to the latest Government Covid-19 regulations and recommendations.
Application forms and the associated conditions can be found on the Horse Sport Ireland website HERE
NOTE – The closing date for receipt of applications from venues is 12 noon on Friday August 28th 2020.
