Horse Sport Ireland would like to congratulate Damian McDonald on his appointment as Director General of the Irish Farmers Association (IFA).
Damian McDonald (pictured) was appointed as CEO of Horse Sport Ireland in 2007 and he played a crucial role in the establishment of HSI as the Governing Body for Equestrian Sport in Ireland, bringing together 28 Equestrian affiliates for the first time under one wing.
Mr McDonald worked tirelessly in his role for almost a decade, as both CEO of HSI and Secretary General of The Irish National Equestrian Federation, representing Ireland at FEI (International Federation for Equestrian Sports) meetings worldwide.
Horse Sport Ireland Chairman Pat Wall said: “Damian is a very capable individual and our loss is the IFA’s gain. He will do a great job for them and I wish him the very best of luck in the next chapter of his career. We have him match fit!”
The Board of Horse Sport Ireland will now begin the process of appointing a new CEO and Secretary General. Damian McDonald will take up his role with the IFA in the New Year and will continue as HSI CEO and Secretary General until that time.
