Horse Sport Ireland Foal Championship Final 2021

The final of the Horse Sport Ireland Foal Championship 2021 will take place in Cavan Equestrian centre on Tuesday the 19th of October from 1.00pm starting with the pony sections. The championship series aims to identify, evaluate and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest level in the disciplines of show jumping or eventing.
The final follows six competitive qualifiers held nationwide; Tubberbride Stables, Bridestown Towers Equestrian Centre, The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Creagh Equestrian Centre, Wexford Equestrian Centre and Greenogue Equestrian Centre.
With a fund of approx €30,000 available for this Championship; nearly €11,000 has been allocated for the Final. Four National Champions will be named; Champion Showjumping horse and pony foal, Champion Eventing horse and pony foal. There will also be a Champion traditionally-bred foal. Foals will be judged on their functional conformation, walk, trot, canter, overall athleticism and balance as well as pedigree.
