HSI Autumn Development Series Ravensdale

The HSI Show Jumping Development Series held it’s penultimate leg in Ravensdale Equestrian Centre on Saturday the 5th of December with Horse Sport Ireland sponsoring classes for 4-year-old’s, 6-year-old’s and the 1.40m Grand Prix.

The HSI 1.40m Grand Prix was tightly fought with only a fraction of a second separating the winner and second place. The eventual winner, finishing with a double clear in a time of 37.55, was Jonathon Smyth riding Mulvin Lui (ISH) (by Luidam x Baron De Chantepie), bred by Vincent Loftus, and co-owned by Noletta Smyth and Roy Craig. Second place, with a time of 37.87 and just 0.32 of a second behind the leader, went to Galway’s Daniel McAlinden, aboard his own AHG Whiterock Doctor Cruise (ISH) (by Indoctro x Cruising), bred by Ann Gannon Clancy. Third place was claimed by Dermott Lennon riding his own Athletix Hero Z (ZANG) (Aganix Du Seigneur x Radco D’Houtveld), bred by Gerry Marron & Luc Henry.
The 6-year-old class was won by 16-year-old Robin Carey aboard his brother Adam’s Luicruz (ISH) (Luidam x Puissance), bred by Sean Fahy. Second place was claimed by Nicola Fitzgibbon riding Michael Kenny’s Castlebridge Metro Du Carel (ISH) (Metropole x Harlequin Due Carel), bred by Stephen Holland. Third place was won by the winning combination of the leg in Tipperary Equestrian, Derek McConnell riding Inlaws Manolo (ISH) (Corland X Lord Z), bred by Tomas Hester & owned by Sorcha Hennessy.
The 4-year-old class had a total of 34 starters with over half of the field jumping clear resulting in 20 combinations sharing first prize.
Upcoming Dates
The Final of the HSI Autumn Development Series for Show Jumping will take place this weekend the 11th and 12th of December in Cavan Equestrian Centre.
