HSI Autumn Development Series Show Jumping & Dressage Updates

Dressage – Ballindenisk

HSI Dressage Development Series continued last weekend in Ballindenisk on the 21st of November. There were age classes as well as classes from Preliminary level to Prix St. George throughout the day. The Prix St. George was claimed by Sarah Mellor riding Hotshot, on a score of 70.93%, who saw off Tabitha Millar Hegarthy riding Aquiro who finished on a score of 69.53%. Mellor also won the Grand Prix on Let’s Dance on a score of 64.34%. The Advanced class was won by Tara Oliver riding Senators Rhonaldo on a score of 67.57%. The winner of the Advanced Medium was Elaine Potter riding CLH Big Red on a score of 71.15%. The 4-year-old class was won by Nicki Russell riding Callowfeenish Silver on an incredible score of 72%. The 5-year-old class was claimed by Kieran O’Brien & Fionnan on 68.39%, and lastly the 6-year-old class winner was Jennifer Rea and Fermoyle Charles (ISH), second week on the trot, on another fantastic score of 72.59%. Dressage – Ard Chuain

The HSI Dressage Development Series took place on Sunday the 14th of November in Ard Chuain where a total of 13 classes from Preliminary to Prix St. George, including age classes took place. The Prix St. George class was won by Marguerite Kavanagh with the 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood Fidette (67.65%). The Advanced class was also won by Marguerite Kavanagh riding her own bred Irish Sport Horse gelding, Fursten (ISH) (Furstenball (OLD) x Carismo (HANN)) on a score of 67.14%. In the 4-year-old class, Killian Gaffney & My Bishophill Rolex on a score 65.60%. The 6-year-old class was won by Jennifer Rea and Fermoyle Charles (ISH) on a super score of 74.66%. Show Jumping – Tipperary

The HSI Show Jumping Development Series continued in Tipperary Equestrian Centre on Saturday the 13th of November with Horse Sport Ireland sponsoring classes for 4-year-old’s, 6-year-old’s and the 1.40m Grand Prix. The HSI 1.40m Grand Prix was won by on-form Brendan Murphy riding the 8-year-old Stallion, Zambia (Diamant De Semilly x Alba), owned by Gabriel Mullins. Murphy guided Zambia to produce a very quick double clear and take the spoils. Second place went to Eddie Moloney with Temple Alice (Foxglen Cruise Control x Rantis Diamond), bred by Susan MacDonald and owned by Eddie Moloney and TSI Equestrian. Third went to Brendan Murphy and City (Cicero Z x Contefine) owned by Helen O’Regan and John Hoyne.

Inlaws Manolo (ISH) and Derek McConnell winners of Tipperary 6YO HSI Autumn Development Series

 

The 6-year-old class was won by Derek McConnell with Inlaws Manolo (Corland X Lord Z, bred by Tomas Hester & owned by Sorcha Hennessy) ahead of Nicola Fitzgibbon in second place, riding Castlebridge Metro Du Carel (Metropole x Harlequin Du Carel bred by Stephen Holland & owned by Michael Kenny) and third was claimed by the pony rider Robin Carey riding the mare Luicruz (Luidam x Puissance bred by Sean Fahy owned by his brother Adam Carey).

The 4-year-old class had a total of 40 starters with over half of the field jumping clear resulting in 25 combinations sharing first prize.

Upcoming Dates:

The next Show Jumping Development Series takes place in Portmore Equestrian Centre on the 28th of November. There is one more leg following this which takes place in Ravensdale Lodge on the 5th of December. This is followed by the final which takes place in Cavan Equestrian Centre on the 10th to 12th of December.

The next leg of the Dressage Series will take place on the 28th of November in JAG Equestrian. The final will take place in Greenogue Equestrian on the 12th of December.
