Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Affiliate Combined Training

The first leg of the Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Affiliate Combined Training Challenge took place at the Meadows Equestrian Centre last weekend. The HSI Affiliate Combined Training Challenge aims to encourage members of all HSI affiliates to compete at levels to suit their abilities, and to encourage the use of correct training on the flat and jumping. Ten participants took on the first challenge with the top 2 in each of the three categories qualifying for the final on the 13th March in CoilÓg Equestrian Centre. The first athletes to qualify for the final in March are as follows:
HSI Affiliate Combined Training – EI110 Qualified Athletes
- 1st Marino (ISH) -2016 gelding by Kannan (KWPN) out of Guidams Summertime (ISH) Breeder: Michael J Murphy. Owned and Ridden by: Emma Egan.
- 2nd Coolnaleen Rebel (ISH)[TIH]- 2010 gelding by Rebel Mountain (ID) out of Crested Ten Lady (TB)(IRE) Breeder: Noeleen Redmond. Owned by: Paul O’Connor. Ridden by: Molly O’Connor.
HSI Affiliate Combined Training – EI100 Qualified Athletes
- 1st Freddie (UNK)- 2005 gelding Owned by: David Nestor: Ridden by: Tom Nestor.
- 2nd PSH Let’s Tango (SHBGB)- 2008 mare by Song Song Blue (HANN) out of Tango VIII (KWPN) Breeder: Mr G Power. Owned by: Alison Irwin. Ridden by: Emma Irwin.
HSI Affiliate Combined Training – EI 90 Qualified Athlete
- 1st Quora (ISH)- 2016 mare by Golden Lariat (USA)(TB) out of Kilossery Donna (ISH) Breeder: Sheila Lavery. Owned and ridden by: Caroline Lynch.

Next Qualifiers:
The next two qualifiers for the HSI Affiliate Combined Training challenge take place on the 13th of February in two locations – Milchem Equestrian Centre and Wexford Equestrian Centre. Entries are NOW OPEN and qualifiers are open to all Horse Sport Ireland affiliate members including Eventing Ireland, Dressage Ireland, Showjumping Ireland, Irish Pony Club, Irish Pony Society, Irish Riding Clubs Association, etc. (please see full list of HSI affiliates at www.horsesportireland.ie/about/affiliates). All athletes must be a member of one affiliate at the time of entry. Horses/ponies may compete on a day registration.
