HSI Loose Jumping Results Roundup

As the Horse Sport Ireland Loose Jumping Competitions end, HSI would like to congratulate all those who participated and to those who won prizes. The judges over the duration of the competitions were Comdt. Geoff Curran, Gabriel Tunney, Philip Scott, Norman Allen, James Kernan and Francis Connors.

Following the final loose jumping event in Top Flight Warrington Equestrian international showjumper and renowned producer of young horses Francis Connors said:

‘I am extremely impressed with the quality of 3 and 4 year olds competing throughout the loose jumping championships. These classes are designed very cleverly by HSI to give the breeders, owners and producers every opportunity to see the potential of their young horses, while also giving good prize money which will help them retain their horses and go towards their future production. This year in particular the emphasis in judging these horses was on their ability and future potential in the sport. It was an extremely fair competition, and all competitors received the recognition they deserved.’

Comdt. Geoff Curran added:

‘I am very happy to see the calibre of young horses coming through these competitions. I have judged these competitions from their inception, and I can see the improvements year after year. Thanks to the HSI breeding policy, world class performance pedigrees are coming to the fore and because of classes such as these and the other breeding and production schemes on offer from Horse Sport Ireland it offers breeders and producers every opportunity to progress in the right direction. Congratulations to the Department of Agriculture, Alison Corbally and all in Horse Sport Ireland for recognising the need for these classes and keeping these initiatives progressing in the right direction’
