HSI seeks venue applications for the 2018 Foal Championships

Following the success of the HSI Sport Horse Foal Championship in recent years Horse Sport Ireland are now seeking venue applications for 2018.

The HSI Foal Championship has a very generous prize fund and will aim to identify, evaluate and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest international level in the disciplines of showjumping or eventing.

This year there will be 5 regional qualifiers held between August and September with separate sections for potential showjumping foals and potential eventing foals.   Foals will be permitted to enter one regional qualifier but will not be confined to entering the qualifier in their own region.  At each of the qualifiers 4 foals will be selected for the Final; the best show jumping type colt and filly, and the best eventing type colt and filly.

The final will take place at the end of September or early October and two Champions will be named, Champion Showjumping Foal and Champion Eventing Foal.  There will also be a special prize for the overall best traditionally-bred foal.

HSI are now seeking applications from existing shows and venues interested in hosting a regional qualifier and/or final.  The closing date for applications is Monday 11^th June 2018.   For the venue application please download the form HERE
