HSI Showjumping Autumn Development Series

The opening leg of the 2022 HSI Autumn Development Series for Showjumping took place on September 25th as part of the Connaught Region Showjumping Championships held in Tubberbride Stables, Co. Sligo.

22 horses competed in the 4-Year-Old HSI Development Series class, with 13 horses jumping clear.
The breeder’s prize draw for horses that jumped clear went to Mary Walsh for the Garyduff Jar Of Hearts (ISH) sired Ceide Candy Heart (ISH) out of Ceide Heather Honey (ISH) by Sligo Candy Boy (ISH) and Thomas Murray, breeder of Patsy’s Favourite (ISH), a gelding by Sligo Candy Boy (ISH) out of Rushlomelass (ISH) by Mohill Cavalier Clover (ISH).

In the 5- & 6-Year-Old class, 19 out the 44 horse and rider combinations jumped double clear with Co. Roscommon’s Cora Sharkey coming home in a time of 26.93 on the 6-year-old Captain Candy Man (ISH). The gelding, also by Sligo Candy Boy (ISH), bred by Gabriel Slattery Snr. is out of the Captain Clover (ISH)[TIH] mare Captains Lady (ISH)[TIH].

Second place went to Jonathan Mulligan on Kathleen’s Candy Clover (ISH), this 5-year-old mare old is another by Sligo Candy Boy (ISH), bred in Co. Leitrim by Kathleen O’Reilly out of the mare Green Road Tulip (UNK).

19 combinations came forward for the 7- & 8-year-old class with Co. Mayo’s Shane Goggins taking the win onboard MSH Global Warming (ISH) (O-Piloth X Guidam) in a time of 25.15 ahead of Tubberbride’s own Richard Kerins with Marius CK (ISH) (Marius Claudius X Quality Time).
MSH Global Warming (ISH) was bred in Co. Kildare by the Knightfield Stud, and is out of the Guidam (KWPN) mare Straffen K (ISH), sired by the KWPN stallion O-Piloth.
