HSI Sport Horse Foal Qualifier Results from Wexford Equestrian Centre

The Sport Horse Foal Championship aims to identify, evaluate and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest International level in the disciplines of Show Jumping or eventing.

The HSI sport horse foal qualifier took place last night Tuesday 22^nd August at Wexford Equestrian Centre. The show jumping qualifier was judged by Michael Duignan and Shane Flavin and the Eventing qualifier was judged by Janet Murray and Richard Kingston.

Show Jumping Foals
The colt section was won by Claire McDonnell with a colt by Diamant de Semilly (SF) out of Mo Chroi (ISH) by Cruising (ISH). The reserve was awarded to Sean Barron’s colt foal by O.B.O.S Quality 004 (OLD) out of Dream Striker (ISH) by Maltstriker (KWPN).

The show jumping filly section was won by Ronan Rothwell, David Cullen and Steven Byrne with a filly by Cornet Obolensky (BWP) out of Gowran Park (ISH) by O.B.O.S Quality 004 (OLD). The reserve show jumping filly went to Sean Barron’s foal by Krafty Clover (ISH) out of Jims Lough (ISH) by Diamond Serpent (ISH).

Eventing Foals

The colt section was won by Patrick Wafer with a colt by OBOS Quality (OLD) out of Parkmore Evita (ISH) by Ghareeb (GB) (TB). The reserve was awarded to Derry Rothwell’s colt foal by Island Commader (USA) (TB) out of Greenhall Diamond Lady (ISH) by Colin Diamond (ISH).

The eventing filly section was won by Paschal Connolly with a filly by OBOS Quality (OLD) out of Ballydonagh Ruby (ISH) by Urlingford (TB). The reserve eventing filly went to John & Barbara Walshe’s foal by Dignified Van’t Zorgvliet out of Ballinaguilkey Heidi (ISH) by OBOS Quality (OLD).
