HSI Sport Horse & Pony Foal Qualifier Results at Wexford Equestrian Centre

The region 2 HSI sport horse and pony foal qualifier took place on Monday 20^th August at Wexford Equestrian Centre. This qualifier was judged by Jane Darragh, Janet Murray, Richard Kingston, Shane Flavin and Jim Roberts.

The Sport Horse and Pony Foal Championship aims to identify, evaluate and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest level in the disciplines of Show Jumping or eventing.

Wexford EC Foal Qualifier Results

Eventing Foals – Horse Section

The eventing filly section was won by Claire Atkinson with a filly by Chinook Eclipse (TB) out of Turtuladh Scarlett (ISH) by Ricardo Z (ZANG) and the reserve was won by Derry Rothwell with a filly by Island Commander (TB) out of Greenhall Wishing Well (ISH) by Crosstown Dancer (IDC1). This foal was also the winner of the traditional prize.

The eventing colt section was won by Derry Rothwell with a colt by Dignified Van’t Zorgvliet (BWP) out of Greenhall Catwalk (ISH) by Mermus R (KWPN). The Reserve was won by Desmond Ellard with a colt foal by Financial Reward (TB) out of Bouncing Lilly (ISH) by Grange Bouncer (IDC1).

Show Jumping Foals – Horse Section

The showjumping filly section was won by Geraldine Power with a filly by Balou Du Rouet (OLD) (TB) out of Cillbhrid April (ISH) by Lux Z (HANN) and the reserve was won by Sean Barron with a filly by Olympic Lux (KWPN) out of Dream Striker (ISH) by Maltstriker (KWPN).

The showjumping colt section was won by John Buttimer with a colt by Quidam Junior I (KWPN) out of Contend Heraldix (HOLST) by Contender (HOLST). The Reserve was won by Tom Moloney Jnr. with a colt foal by Je T’aime Flamenco (BWP) out of Zilke (KWPN) by Corland (HOLST).

Eventing Foals – Pony Section

The eventing colt pony section was won by Jonathan Murphy with a colt by Riverdale Goliath out of BBS Ciscos Cavalier by Feagh Cavalier. The reserve was won by Geraldine Power by Sligo Candy Boy out of Killone Lady by Templebready Fear Bui.

The Showjumping Colt pony section was won by Jonathan Murphy with a colt by Feagh Cavalier out of Flaminca and the showjumping filly pony section was won by Stephen McDonald with a filly by Weststar Sunny out of Dancing Jasmine by Moores Clover.
