Ireland plays host to two home internationals this weekend, in the FEI disciplines of both showjumping and eventing. A 2 star show takes place at Mullingar International, with the Grand Prix taking place at 15.00 GMT on bank holiday Monday. In County Meath, Tattersalls International Horse Trials kicks off today (Wednesday) with the first of the dressage tests taking place. Between the two venues, almost 200 Irish entries have been made.
In showjumping, Team Ireland Equestrian will be represented in the 5 star Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup at St Gallen (SUI) this weekend. Nations Cup action also takes place at the 4 star show in Langley BC (CAN), while Ireland’s Children On Horses and Pony riders compete in Nations Cup classes at Wierden (BEL).
This weekend, Irish riders will fly the flag in the disciplines of showjumping, eventing, dressage and endurance, at 14 different shows across 10 countries. Almost 400 entries have been made for Team Ireland Equestrian riders this week, representing 230 separate riders.
