Ireland in Pony Nations Cup action today

Horse Sport Ireland Pony Show Jumping Team Manager, Gary Marshall (pictured), has announced the Irish team for the first Pony Nations cup of the season at Fontainebleau in France today.

The team will jump in the following order:

Cian Harrison with Knockeroghery Prince
Abbie Sweetnam with Dynamite Spartacus
Kate Derwin with Vales Blue Melody
Ciaran Nallon with Dibidoe

The show began on Thursday with Ireland off to a flying start winning five competitions in the first two days.

Ciaran Nallon riding He’s A Keeper began Ireland’s winning streak, claiming victory in the 6-year-old class on Thursday, with Sean Monaghan and Shirsheen Cruiser adding a second win in the 7-year-old class.

Ciaran Nallon claimed another win with Fizzula in Friday’s 1.20m class, followed by Lucy Shanahan and Cinderella Girl winning the another 1.20m, while Ireland’s fifth win in two days came from Sean Monaghan riding Shirsheen Cruiser in the 7-year-old class.

The Fontainebeau Pony Nations Cup begins at 3.30pm Irish time.

Meanwhile, Irish national Dressage champion Roland Tong and Rybrook Ambience, scored 67.060% for fifth place finish in the three-star Grand Prix at Keysoe, in Britain on Friday.

The Keysoe Grand Prix was won by Britain’s Carl Hester and Wanadoo on a score of 74.620%.
