The Mounted Games Association of Ireland (MGAI) is very proud to announce that they will be hosting the 30th annual Mounted Games World Team Championships (WTC) for 2016. The competition will be held at the Milstreet Green Glens Arena, County Cork from July the 11th to the 15th.

Mounted Games is a branch of equestrian sport in which 31 different games are played by people of all ages, on ponies up to a height of 15hh. The games are a true test of horsemanship, skill and speed. Mounted Games is exhilarating to watch and is a spectacle at many top international shows including the Royal Windsor Horse Show, Horse of The Year Show and The Dublin Horse Show

Last year the WTC were held in The Rolex Arena at The Kentucky Horse Park where the Irish team were reserve champions.  MGAI has a relativity small membership compared to other nations but currently rank first in the world standings due to their international success in 2015. The Irish team took home the reserve title in both the World and European Team Championships, Ireland also found success in The World Pairs Championships and European Individual Championships claiming gold medals in both.

Trials and team selection for the Irish teams to compete in the championships will take place in April bringing riders from all over the Republic of Ireland to claim team spots to represent their country on home turf.
