Ireland wins media award at World Trotting Conference

IRELAND won its first ever media award at the World Trotting Conference on Wednesday afternoon in Sydney, Australia.

It picked up the World’s Best News Article, which was the article that appeared in the Irish Sunday Independent about the late Vincent Delaney and the race that his brothers have dedicated in his memory.

Ireland fought off stiff competition from the USTA and Standardbred Canada who made it into the final three. The awards were presented at end of the WTC.

Meanwhile a major development for Harness Racing in Ireland and Great Britain is to be officially announced in the coming weeks. Agreement has been reached  with Australia to run a series in Ireland and Great Britain with the overall winning horse, driver and trainer travelling to Australia in November to take part in the Interdominion for a purse of $1.3 Million.
