Irish Horse Gateway All Ireland Pony Foal Championship Thurles, Co. Tipperary

Horse Sport Ireland are delighted to sponsor The Irish Horse Gateway All Ireland Pony Foal Championship Show, which will be held at Tipperary Equestrian Centre in Thurles, Co. Tipperary on Sunday October 30th 2016, beginning at 11am.

There will be €500 on offer to the overall supreme champion foal and €250 to the reserve with a bonus of €100 if the foal is Irish-bred. Mrs Julie Rucklidge of the renowned Jackets Stud in England has agreed to judge at the show which offers a total of 12 classes. The show will cater for all types of foal including Connemara, Purebred Welsh, foals eligible for Over Stamping in the Part-bred section of the Welsh or Arab Studbook, and foals that are the progeny of either an Irish-bred dam or an Irish-bred sire. There will also be classes for foals to make potential top class Show Ponies, Show Hunter, or Lead Rein Ponies.

A prizefund of €100 will be on offer per class and the show is not confined to members of the Irish Pony Society.Foals must be shown without their dams and must not be bitted. Foals may be plaited where the breed standard allows it. The show is pre-entry and entries close on October 20th 2016. Foals which are being offered for sale will be marked on the show catalogue. It is expected that this will be a brilliant day out for all showing enthusiasts and spectators alike with catering facilities available on the day.
