Irish Quarter Horse Association Youth Camp ahead of Team Ireland Selections

Last summer, the Irish Quarter Horse Association made Irish riding history as they sent the first ever Irish Youth Team, consisting of 5 young riders, to compete at the American Quarter Horse Association Youth World Cup in Bryan College Station Texas.

The AQHA Youth World Cup is a large and very prestigious event, with competitors arriving from every corner of the world to take part. The performance of last year’s Irish Youth Team was outstanding, with performances way ahead of any expectation.

Spurred on by their success, the IQHA is now looking onward to establish a Youth Team to compete at the next AQHA Youth Team World Cup, which is being help in the summer of 2016 at the Australian Equine Livestock & Events Centre in New South Wales, Australia.

The first event in the calendar for any youth riders interested in becoming part of Team Ireland at the AQHA Youth World Cup 2016, is taking place at Fossey Mountain Ranch in Port Laoise, who will play host to a two day Youth Clinic with professional Horsewoman Cyndi Hershey Brown on the 20th and 21st of July 2015.

Cyndi, the new IQHA Youth Team Coach, will be focusing on the disciplines being offered at the AQHA Youth World Cup 2016.

This camp is a chance for any Youth Rider, aged between 13 – 18 years, interested in becoming part of the IQHA Youth Team, to get some first-hand training with Cyndi, in advance of team selection.

The cost is €125 per rider for the two days. In addition, each participant is requested to fundraise for this event an additional €200, to be put towards the AQHA Youth World Cup entry deposit.
