Irish riders compete in World Equestrian Games and World Championships this week

Team Ireland Equestrian will be represented in five disciplines at the 2018 World Equestrian Games at Tryon North Carolina (USA), which kicks off today (Tuesday) with the opening ceremony. Ireland fields riders in the disciplines of showjumping, eventing, dressage, endurance and reining at WEG, which runs from 11th to 22nd September.
Elsewhere, Irish riders compete at the World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses at Lanaken (BEL), with the competition commencing on Thursday with the first qualifiers for 5, 6 and 7 year old horses. Jumping action also takes place at Macon Chaintre (FRA) and eventing at Blenheim (GBR).
