Irish Show Jumping team drawn fourth to jump in tomorrow’s Nations Cup World Final in Barcelona

The Irish Show Jumping team have been drawn fourth to jump of 15 teams in tomorrow’s (Friday) Longines FEI Nations Cup World Final, which carries a prize fund of €1.7 Million and takes place at the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona, Spain.
The top eight teams after tomorrow’s first round of competition will qualify for Sunday’s grand final, with the other seven teams going forward to the Challenge Cup final on Saturday.
The Devenish & The Underwriting Exchange-sponsored Irish team qualified for the World Final back in August, after finishing second on the Europe Division 1 Nations Cup league table. The full draw for the first round of competition in Barcelona is as follows:
1, Germany; 2, Spain; 3, Austria; 4, Ireland; 5, Great Britain; 6, Italy; 7, Sweden; 8, Belgium; 9, Brazil; 10, USA; 11, Canada; 12, Netherlands; 13, France; 14, Switzerland; 15, UAE.
Irish team manager Rodrigo Pessoa has named his team for the Barcelona showdown and they will line out as follows:
Cork’s Billy Twomey with Kimba Flamenco
Waterford’s Anthony Condon with SFS Aristio
Tipperary’s Shane Breen with Ipswich Van De Wolfsakker
Offaly’s Darragh Kenny with Balou Du Reventon
Mayo’s Michael G Duffy is Ireland’s fifth man with The Irish Sport Horse Lapuccino 2 and can be called upon to jump in the second competition over the weekend.
