On Friday last (17th June) Greg Broderick, Ireland’s nominated Olympic Showjumping rider’s colt foal BP Gone Global (ISH) sold for £30,000 at the prestigious Bolesworth International Show in the UK.

Broderick had announced before the show that the proceeds from the sale would be donated to two charities the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation in County Kildare and Dublin’s Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, with no VAT or commissions taken.

The colt’s name was decided after a competition for members of the public that ran on the Facebook pages of Bolesworth, Harthill and Greg’s Ballypatrick Stables. With Goff’s auctioneer Andrew Nolan on the rostrum, the highest bidder was a Czech-led syndicate of international show jumpers topping the Elite Auction Sale on the night.

Ballypatrick Flight, the dam of the colt foal is a half-sister to MHS Going Global and was a national Champion as a seven year old, the sire of the colt is Quidam Junior, the same sire as MHS Going Global (ISH)

Speaking about the auction, Nina Barbour, Director of Bolesworth LLP said ‘We were delighted with the response to this year’s Bolesworth Elite Auction.  We were also very proud to support Greg Broderick who donated his super foal ‘BP Gone Global’, and raised £30,000 for two such worthy causes.’
