Irish Sport Horse Young Breeders National Competition prize winners announced

The ISH Young Breeders National Competition took place at Teagasc Kildalton Agricultural College yesterday (Thursday November 3rd). The National Competition is jointly organised by the Irish Sport Horse Studbook and Teagasc where over 30 young breeders took part in the competition which involved a theory test, judging horses on gaits and loose jumping, assessing the conformation and presenting a horse in hand.

The results of the National Competition will be used to form a panel from which the teams may be selected to represent the Irish Sport Horse Studbook in the 2017 WBFSH Young Breeders World Championship scheduled to be held in Calgary, Canada next July.

Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) would like to thank Teagasc and Kildalton College for hosting the event, and in particular the judges Tiernan Gill, Philip Scott, Patrick Hester and Norman Storey. HSI would also like to congratulate all the participants that took part and look forward to working with these young breeders in the future.
