Irish Under 16 Show Jumping Team Win Nations Cup in Denmark

The Irish Under 16 Pony Show Jumping Team today won the Nations Cup in Odense, Denmark. The Irish team claimed their win on a zero penalty score, home-side Denmark placed second with a score of 12 penalties. The Irish team consisted of Adam Carey riding Stakkati, Sean Monaghan riding Orchids Vienna, Kayleigh Soden riding Castle Hill King and Abbey Sweetnam riding Dynamite Spartacus each team combination  jumped a clear round for the team to end on an incredible 0 penalty score.

Six Irish ponies competed for four countries in the Nations Cup competition with five of them producing double clear rounds.

 

A total of five pony riders competed in Odense, Denmark this weekend. Ireland’s Harry Allen began the Scandinavian competition with a win for Ireland in the Pony Big Tour, a 1.25 metre against the clock class yesterday riding Aughnashammer.

 

Speaking after the win Horse Sport Ireland’s Pony Showjumping High Performance Team Manager Gary Marshall said; ” Our athletes rode fantastic. It is a huge show with an intense atmosphere, they coped really well with it to produce a top class performance.”
