ISH Studbook Showjumping Series 2014 at Mullingar International Show

THE fourth leg of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series 2014 took place this weekend at Mullingar International Show. The classes this weekend attracted high numbers, with 88 5 year olds, 57 6 year olds and 35 7 year olds entered to compete in Saturday’s qualifiers. There was €9,500 in prize money on offer for these young horse classes from Horse Sport Ireland over the two days of competition at Mullingar.

Peter Leonard and Capitol Cruise (ISH) won the 7 Year Old Final at Mullingar International Show today (Sunday). The winner is by Ard VDL Douglas (KWPN) and out of the Cruising mare Forest Mistral (IRIP). She was bred in County Kildare by Diana H Warrington and is owned by Ian Smyth.

Five horses shared top spot in the 6 Year Old Final with thirteen sharing the 5 Year Old Final. These classes are not decided by a jump off to avoid young horses being pushed against the clock. The prizes are shared between the horses that jump a second clear within a prescribed time.
